This is an informal and comfortable clinic, but there is a structure to the way it works.
To keep process running smoothly,please download and complete both of these new patient forms before coming in, but if you can't that's OK, the same forms are available to complete in the office while you wait, allow 15 minutes to complete. You can just quietly look in and I will give you forms on a clipboard to complete in the waiting area outside.

Normally patients just come in, make payment at the front desk and proceed to a recliner and relax until they are seen. The first time you come in I'll have you come in and wait at the front of the room in the smaller leather chair so we can go over your paperwork and talk about what you want help with.

I will typically be attending other patients when you arrive, but will move on to others including you in the order you arrive.

I suggest you allow an hour for your first visit and around 30- 45 min. for following visits. I appreciate your bearing with me as I transition from an appointment-driven to the walk-in clinic.If you have to be our at a certain time, be sure to let me know .

Normally patients can relax in the chairs as long they wish, but there may be some peak periods during which I have may have to limit chair time. For the style of acupuncture I most often do, 30 to 45 min of chair time is considered ideal for great results.

I answer my phone even on time and days I am out of the office, as soon as possible. Leave message, don't just hang up to try again later as I do not return such calls. Also, please do not text, it has not proven to be a reliable means of communication at the clinic.

We are located in at One Parker Place (Suite 301). It's the large building across from the County Courthouse in downtown Janesville WI. We are at lobby level, same as the former restaurant (you'll see the tables there) but it's considered the 3rd Floor. If you come in off of Parker Place (there is a visitor lot here) just come up a few steps, enter the building and walk through the lobby till it ends at a T with the front doors on the right, but go left, I'm the first door down the hall.  If you come in off of Parker Drive, next to the Gazette, walk along the building, don't turn in till you are at the main building not the side extension. Come in the door, down a short hall, into the elevator, and press the LOBBY/3RD floor button. Then get out, turn left, walk through the lobby till it ends at a T with the front doors on the right, but go left, I'm the first door down the hall. If you come up the broad stairs across from the courthouse, just go in the front doors and straight back.

BUILDING MANAGEMENT locks outer doors, I have no control over this. DOORS MAY BE LOCKED AT (or sometimes just before) 6:00 PM. ALWAYS BRING YOUR PHONE to late appointments so that you can call me to come let you in (at one of the upper doors). It's no fun being out there looking in with your nose to the glass in -18 weather so I do keep an eye on this situation, thanks! If you have kids or someone with you make sure they know if they go out, they may not be able to get back in.

There is parking all around the building, including the visitor lots alongside the building, and City lots across the street(s) in all directions.

Patients generally relax for around half hour to 45min after the initial one-on-one time with me.  When possible, I will certainly allow you to rest longer if you wish.

Telephone Communications
Call (608) 322-4408, even on days I'm not scheduled to be in the clinic, I check my phone and return calls.
You may be asked to leave a message, please do so, don't just keep calling or assume that I will call your number back. Please don't text, it has not proven a reliable method of clinic communication.

IN CASE OF MEDICAL or MENTAL HEALTH EMERGENCY dial 911. This is not a medical (MD/RN staffed clinic).

Always call if you think you may be late, or have to miss an appointment, so we can reschedule you as soon as possible and give your time slot to someone else who may need it. Any pattern of frequent 'no-shows' and/or last-minute cancellations, may result in your dismissal from the clinic.

Please be considerate of others and help us keep things running smoothly for everyone's benefit.

If you arrive late, please realize you may have to wait as other patients have scheduled their treatments to begin at the time you finally arrive. I will do my best to fit you in, as I never want to send anyone home without treatment, but please be patient. Thank you for your understanding.

Email Communication is typically not used for patient communication, phone is better and faster (no texts please).
Please call, rather than email, if  you want information or Email is good for business related things such as communication with other doctor's offices or to discuss having me make a presentation at your church, social organization or business.
